Catskills + Week(end) Roll Call

How is it Friday again already?! The weeks have been flying by and it's either scary or awesome to think March is days away.

Last week we fled the city with 16 other creatives (whom I'm incredibly inspired by), holed ourselves up in a massive cabin and created some amazing work. It will be a long way down the road until all can be shared, but here's a few peeks via Instagram. We feasted like kings, build fires like eagles scouts, listened to incredible musicians play songs, shared late night conversation and ultimately walked away with some of the most memorable days we've lived.  Cheers to our work together!

Things from around the interwebs this week ::

- Still can't get over the simple delivery of so much honesty in Becca's post on The Daily Muse. 'Getting Rid of the Negative' should be a thing we all get, but I feel like it eludes us so often and we need to read something like this to bring us back to reality. If you find yourself eight pages deep in Becca's blog (like I usually do), then be sure to read her post on moving to NYC. I'm a sucker for the human story and especially when it involves the reason and way people took the leap to move to this crazy city.

- The darling Colleen of Inspired To Share, has her list of 'Wanted This Week'..... and it's one steller compilation if I do say!

- I can't handle this. When will it end Paris.... when?

- This Sunday, the wonderful people of Kinfolk are hosting an intimate gathering here in Brooklyn inside The Green Building. It's a stunning venue and I can't wait to see everyone and meet some new faces! Anna is my date, as E is out of town, and I think we will both be in heaven!

Hope everyone has a marvelous weekend! What are y'all up too?

Kinfolk + Week(end) Roll Call

Extremely excited for the first edition of Kinfolk Magazine which launched today. If you aren't familiar, Kinfolk is a strikingly beautiful magazine (both online and in print) that is a guide to intimate gatherings. The magazine is a collaboration of some seriously talented designers, photographers and writers. See the contributers --> here.

One thing near and dear to my heart is gathering friends around a table, enjoying a good meal, clanking glasses of wine and having rich conversation. Their manifesto says it perfectly:

"Kinfolk is a growing community of artists with a shared interest in small gatherings. We recognize that there is something about a table shared by friends, not just a wedding or once-a-year holiday extravaganza, that anchors our relationships and energizes us. We have come together to create Kinfolk as our collaborative way of advocating the natural approach to entertaining that we love."

Already can't wait to see the next edition!

Here are some things I found interesting from this week, hope you do too (!) ::

  - Beth Jones has the most insane ability to mix colors and patterns to make some beautifully put together outfits. Added this one to my inspiration board for when I can't decide on an outfit --> here

- Weekend wrap bracelet DIY thanks to the brilliant ladies at Honestly WTF --> here

- Our buddy Zach Williams is playing another show with The Civil Wars. This time it's in the intimate Housing Works Bookstore location in Soho....get tix now, this is a sure sell out --> here

 - In case you've just landed here from another planet, the final installment of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2, officially opened in theaters at midnight. If you are easily bored by 2 dimensional objects, luckily for you, this movie is the first in the series to offer a 3-D option! For further reading, head on over to MTV to get more scoop on the actual $cha-ching$ the movie has grossed so far.

- Movie schoovie.....I was more enthralled to see what the darling Emma Watson has been wearing to the premieres!

World premiere :: stunning sleeveless gown by Oscar de la Renta --> here

New York premiere :: taking the more dramatic cue in Bottega Veneta --> here

- Adorable hanging flower vases made out of old soda pop bottles. Easy and elegant decor idea for indoor or outdoor space--> here

- Elle Fanning is one of those young teens (including Kiernan Shipka of Mad Men in that list) with better style than most fashion editors. Oh, to be young and filthy rich so you can semi avoid the awkward teen years of 'did I actually wear that?' moments! So, it's not surprising she is new face of Marc by Marc Jacobs full Fall 2011 ad campaign --> here

Hope everyone has a relaxing and delightful weekend!
