If you follow me on the tweetosphere, then you probably saw my pleading 140 characters to all the fashionistas out there to affirm my plan of wearing a full on sequins dress in November to a wedding. The dress was originally purchased for a New Years Eve party, so I couldn't seem to get over that it's a 'holiday cocktail' dress and had reservations about it being too loud for a fall wedding. But after some affirmation, I committed and just followed through.
Tyler, the groom, and I have one of those New York stories. Most people get jobs after college, Tyler instead joined forces with a mutual friend, bought the prop ambulance used on Men In Black II (on Ebay naturally) and set out on a summer road trip across the United States. Oh, and did I mention they documented the whole thing? We crossed paths in Texas where I was not the least bit impressed with him and had no intention of being friends. Fast forward six months and I am now living in NYC where we crossed paths again.... and of course became instant friends. We intentionally moved within blocks of each other, keys were exchanged - which lead to either multiple 2am locked out rescues or the typical scenario of coming home to Tyler on our couch, usually napping.... at 2pm on a Sunday. Now, four years later, we've had the honor of watching each other grow up in this city - including when he opened the doors for me to walk down the aisle at my own wedding. This past weekend, we got to see him marry his stunning bride, Jessica. I felt like a proud sister. The ceremony was gorgeous and once we arrived at The Ace Hotel for the reception.....we turned into dancing machines for the entire night. Maybe there were some sprinkler moves going on. My feet still hurt..... worth it.
