When it's the winter months and you're holed up inside because it's basically -22 degrees outside, you get all sorts of home decorating inspiration! Cabin fever is always the best time to decide to re-do everything in your apartment, yea? I will say, for honestly the past 2-3 months, I've been seriously considering incorporating some statement wallpaper into our bathroom. Just something to give it a fresh new look. It has been the exact same for nearly the past six years. In my searches, I've noticed my main attraction is for bold, contrast heavy wallpaper options. Maybe not that surprising. I feel like it gives it more of this 'art' feel than a plain old coat of paint is able too.
Call me crazy, but there's something about this leafy design that feels adventurous and really outside of my normal black and white attraction. It's also from Katherine Power's Beverly Hills home..... so, it brings some added chicness just from association. Could also be that I'm so cold right now that anything tropical is dreamy to me. Like a frozen induced mirage.
I will say my first choice may be the basic black and white spotted option, as shown above, but if I have a bathroom one day with a large window in it, I'd definitely go for this moody floral wallpaper and the gold scone accents. Bright and natural light is a huge bonus to any bathroom, so this wallpaper in a super small space would make it feel pretty dark and gloomy I think. It would also be perfect for a closet too! Look at me, thinking I'll get to upgrade from my free standing industrial pipe clothing rack to an actual walk-in closet someday. This cabin fever really is hitting me!
