When Monday morning rolls around and it's time for me to get myself together again and pretend I haven't just spent all weekend in my mom attire of workout pants and oversized knit sweaters, I feel like I'm looking at my closet for the first time again. What do I wear when I need to look like a put together human being? You'd be surprised how quickly one forgets.
Lord knows I usually stand in front of my closet for a good 15min in the morning just staring.... like maybe by staring the clothes will put themselves on my body for me. Over the past year, I've learned the magic word to putting an outfit together - and fast. That magic word being: basics. If everything I own can essentially all be mixed and matched together, it sure does make getting dressed a heck of a lot quicker.
This has been one of my go-to outfits the past few months, mainly because it also transitions really easily from work to evening activities. Leather pants are one of my all-time favorite fall/winter pieces and you'll see me in them a lot through those months. A crisp white collared shirt is obviously a closet staple and this baller camel jacket ensures that I don't look like a waiter. Which can easily happen with black pants and a white button down.
