I had the pleasure of meeting Karen, of Sunday Suppers, many many moons ago out at her beautiful industrial studio and kitchen space here in Brooklyn. It's any party throwing - dinner party loving - gathering enthusiasts dream space. And I've basically wanted to be her ever since. Well, if there was any version of me that knew my way around a kitchen, do food photography or start my own company... but you see, I aim high.
If you aren't familiar, Sunday Suppers is a food and design community that focuses on seasonal fare and simple, thoughtful living. If you've been to any bookstore, Anthropologie or blogger's kitchen lately, than you've likely seen her beautiful cookbook laying around. It's an ode to the simplicity of meals shared by friends with some gorgeous food styling and tasty recipes. Their mission to gather friends, cook a meal together, toast and celebrate over the love of food is really why I've enjoyed following along with their journey these past few years.
Their debut collection consists of olive oil, nine specialty spices, five kinds of salts, wildflower honey and maple syrup. Um, yes please! All of the products are carefully sourced from farms, purveyors and artisans around the globe. I know my spice cabinet is in serious need of an upgrade and I can't wait for these to find a home in my (tiny) kitchen. Plus, I would never put that olive oil bottle away...... it's far too pretty that it would never feel like clutter on my counter. Just eye candy.
Be sure to hop over to their Kickstarter and show some love and get some of the kitchen essentials for yourself! They would make an amazing holiday or birthday gift for any foodies or fans of beautiful products. I, for one, love to see companies like this that have organically grown out of a passion and am constantly inspired to somehow do that in some way of my own!
